My Journey

Before I began visual design digitally, my creative expression came through sculpture, drawing, acrylics, watercolor and oil painting. I taught art to high school and elementary students for several years.

I’m a professionally trained photographer, which lead me to taking a class in Photoshop. Which lead to more classes and becoming certified in Graphic Design, Illustration and Website Development.

My experience in graphic design and photography has been working in/with retail, non-profits, art galleries and the Sacramento Regional Transit District in the Marketing and Graphic Design department. While wearing those various hats,  I’ve been a freelancer under the business title of Imaginative Images.

Personal History

I grew up in Bakersfield. Then worked my way through college at San Jose State University receiving a BA in Health Science. I’ve lived in

the Santa Cruz Mountains, Los Gatos, Grass Valley, Carlsbad (north San Diego County), Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe.

What I Love Most besides my family, friends, animals and art is a great adventure.

My Great Adventures

Hitched hiked all over Europe on my own for 13 months. I was 22. Worked odd jobs when money ran short. I’ve visited Japan and Hong Kong. Took a 75-day trip on my own to Africa, India and Nepal. Visited Jamaica, Puerto Rico and Hawaii. Drove across the U.S., plus up and down each coast.

Rafting on the Nile River in Uganda, we went over class five rapids.

Mural - Map of the world

While in Uganda, I worked with the Kellermann Foundation. My projects and experiences included shooting a photo documentary of the Kellermann’s medical missionary work. They used the photo documentary to fundraise. They built a hospital, nurses’ college, health clinics and more. All in rural areas. I also directed a community mural project on a classroom wall in a remote village.
